Hundreds of passengers were forced to evacuate a Delta flight using emergency slides after pilots detected an “engine issue” during takeoff on Friday, according to reports.
The harrowing incident unfolded just after 9 a.m. at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).
A Boeing 757-300 bound for Minneapolis-St. Paul aborted takeoff with 201 passengers onboard, with at least four being injured in the process.
“Passengers deplaned via emergency slides and were safely transported to a nearby concourse. Four passengers are reporting minor injuries; one was transported, the remaining three were treated on scene,” ATL officials explained in a statement.
