Barack Obama has been left fearing for his political legacy after Kamala Harris’s defeat, The Daily Mail reports.
According to author David Garrow, a Pulitzer Prize winner who wrote a book about Obama in 2017, the former president’s “tone-deaf and clueless” rhetoric during the campaign may have reduced his stature to “Bill Clinton levels.”
“People do not want to be talked down to, no matter who they are,” Garrow said, clearly referring to Obama’s hectoring message for young black men to “step up” and vote for Kamala Harris.
“I thought it was tone-deaf and clueless for them to preach as they did.”
Garrow predicted that Obama’s reputation would suffer a significant hit in the long term, and that he and his wife, Michelle, might end up disappearing from the political scene altogether. […]
